Local Outreach
Community Bible Church is involved in giving to people that are in need as well as several annual projects that reach out to people in our community. Our primary purpose is to demonstrate Gods love unconditionally. In helping others, our hope is to achieve our secondary purpose, which consists of drawing others to Christ through our actions. Our focus is on meeting immediate physical needs, such as food and clothing, and also spiritual needs.
- Angel Tree Party — The Angel Tree Party is held in conjunction with the National Prison Fellowship Ministry. We provide Christmas gifts to children in our community who have a parent in prison. We host a Christmas dinner party for the children and their families. For more information about the Angel Tree Party, contact Shannon Pigeon at 479-646-2001 (evening).
- Backpack Kids Program — The Backpack Kids Program is an ongoing ministry through the Fort Smith Clearing House that provides nutritional snacks to school-age children in need. For more information, contact Matt Whitson at matt@communitychurch.com.
- Back-to-School Clothes Giveaway — Each summer, before school resumes, we open up our Van Buren campus for a large clothes giveaway for children in need. We ask our congregation to donate children’s and adult’s clothing and shoes for the giveaway. We also have volunteer hairstylists and barbers on site to give the children haircuts. For more information, contact Mike Crain at mike@communitychurch.com.
- Habitat For Humanity — Throughout the year, we work with Habitat for Humanity to help build homes for deserving families in our community and we also help by providing meals for Habitat for Humanity workers. For more information, contact Jim Kolp at 479-651-5884 or jsk0681@aol.com.
