Fall 2009: Discipleship Parables

Summer 2009 #2: Psalm 23 — Psalm 23, more than any other text, is part of the fabric of our culture. No matter what people think about our faith, chances are they respect this text. Yet like anything that is familiar, this text while widely known and quoted, is not as understood as we would like to think. While we can quickly recognize the Psalm, its words deserve more time than a simple reference in a movie. These words can literally change our lives.

Summer 2009: God is... — A.W. Tozer said, "The history of mankind will probably show that no people has ever risen above its religion, and man’s spiritual history will positively demonstrate that no religion has ever been greater than its idea of God. Worship is pure or base as the worshiper entertains high or low thoughts of God."

Spring 2009 #2: Appearances — The resurrection of Jesus from the dead changes everything. In this five week series through the last two chapters of John's gospel we will see the disciples of Jesus struggling to come to grips with the meaning of this new life. In Jesus, we will see the opportunity for transformation.

Spring 2009: When Life Falls Apart — Life can change in a moment. From the surprising diagnosis to the long awaited driver's license, our lives are constantly in flux. How do we respond to those moments? What is God's perspective when our dreams do not come true? In this five part series on the Old Testament book of Ruth, we will discover how to respond when life falls apart.

Winter 2009: Shout or Silent — Have you ever spoken only to regret ever opening your mouth? Have you ever remained silent only later to wish you had said something? In this series we will study several controversial topics and will attempt to discover what we can confidently say about these issues and when are appropriate times to remain quite.

Spring 2008: Godly Sex & Money — Some things come naturally, but then there is sex and money. Sex and money are not taboo topics when it comes to the Bible. With shocking honesty and modern day relevance, the Bible provides ageless wisdom for every area of life including sex and money.

Winter 2008: What Comes Next? — See what the Bible says about will follow our last breath — Death, Judgment, Heaven, Hell and Eternity. By getting a proper perspective on what comes next we can better live in what comes now.

Fall 2007: God's Glory Revealed — What we do on Sundays is one aspect of a life that brings glory to God. In this series we explore what it means to know the glory of God and to respond in worship.

Spring 2007: The Gospel of Mark — Mark, the shortest of the gospels, narrates the life of Jesus from John the Baptist to the Ascension, but it concentrates particularly on the last week of his life. The messianic secret is one of the most notable themes of this gospel.

Fall 2006: Accepting God's Unmistakable Will for Your Life — "What would God have me do?" That question should permeate the life of a believer. The will of God is often seen as a great mystery out of reach of the average person. Yet God made his desire for humanity abundantly clear. In this ten week series we explore what God has explicitly told us to do.

Spring 2006: Jeremiah — The book of Jeremiah is the second longest book in the Old Testament, second only to the book of Psalms. The book is named after the prophet Jeremiah who prophesized in the years preceding God’s discipline of his people by allowing them to be taken captive by Babylonia. It contains some of the most famous passages of Scripture and some of the most overlooked.

Fall 2005: Die to Self / Alive in Christ — What does it mean to die to self? In the midst of self-centeredness and Christian self-help, the Biblical invitation to personal death seems to have little relevance. In this series, we explored this radical call to transformation in which the Bible invites us to trade our lives for the life of Christ.
